Welcome back to part 2 of our blog if you are still needing some guidance in what to put on the Baby Registry!
If you haven't already, be sure to read part 1 of our blog where we have introduce 6 baby essentials if you are still figuring out what to put in a baby registry. Let's get started on the next items - here comes #7!
7. Breast Pump and Accessories, and Nursing Pillow
- Whether you plan to breastfeed, feed formula, or a mix of both - be prepared to be flexible. The most important is to ensure baby is happily fed and comfortable! Some moms will want to invest in a high-quality breast pump. They come in electric and manual - it's all a personal preference.
- A nursing pillow will come in handy no matter how you decide to feed baby.
- My personal favourite is My Brest Friend, it was the best nursing pillow for me - as you can adjust it to your body for a snug fit and baby fits nicely on there for nursing or bottle-feeding.
8. Bottles, Formula, and Sterilizing Equipment
- For most parents, even ones who decide to nurse baby, you will likely still want to have a couple of bottles available in case baby is fed pumped milk.
- With bottle feeding, you will want to also get a bottle sterilizer, and a bottle drying rack.
9.Crib or Bassinet
- As first time parents, may can be confusing to know what to put on the baby registry. Is a crib better? Or a Bassinet?
- For the first few months, many parents may find the easy of using a bassinet helpful because you can move it around the house conveniently. However, ultimately, baby will sleep in a crib up until toddler years and you may find that a crib will be more useful in the long-run.
- There are some fantastic convertible cribs that allows for it to grow with baby!
10. Baby Swing or Bouncer
- While some babies are content sleeping in a swaddle on their own, some babies appreciate being soothed on a baby swing or bouncer. They enjoy the movement just like in mommy's belly.
- This is a great tool for parents if you want to be hand-free while baby naps.
11. Newborn Photography Session
- As a photographer, I am a little biased. But I truly think this is one of the most beautiful and essentials to prepare for your baby's arrival. When I was a first time mom, while I had a newborn session for my son, it actually was not the exact style I had envisioned. I wanted the beautiful posed newborn portraits that I now offer to my clients.
- Most first time parents will want to start looking for the best newborn photographer in Toronto that best suits their style starting in second trimester to ensure they find the right one for them and in ensuring availability.
Creating a baby registry is an should be a joyous and exciting time in preparation for the arriving of your precious bundle! Enjoy all the love that you and baby will be showered with by your loved ones! Happy registry building!
